  • Home Screen

    iPIM™ organizes its data in folders and subfolders. These are the built-in top folders that you get when you install iPIM™, or you can create your own.

    To make your own folder, touch the "+" button at the top right of the screen. To modify, reorder or delete folders, touch the "Edit" button.

    The bottom of the screen shows the main five areas of iPIM™:

    • Personal Info - shows your data, organized in folders.
    • Important - Shows all data items you marked as important in one convenient location.
    • Search - Performs application-wide simple or advanced search.
    • Lists - Lets you manage your reminders, locations and forms.
    • Settings - Lets you define various options for iPIM™.
  • Forms

    Each data item in iPIM™ is associated with a Form that defines the Fields which can be stored in the data item.

    A folder in iPIM™ can contain data items associated with one or more forms.

    These* are the built-in forms that you get when you select the Personal and Business Memos and Reminders folders, or you can create your own.

    To make your own form first touch the "Edit" button at the top of the screen to edit the list of folders. Then select a folder and touch "Forms used in this folder". You can then select an existing form or create a new form by touching the "+" button. You can also manage your forms by touching the "Lists" button at the bottom of the screen.

  • Item Thumbnails

    iPIM™ shows you thumbnails of the data items stored in each of your folders.

    This unique display saves you time by showing many more data items on a single screen than can be shown in a conventional scrollable list.

    Touch a thumbnail to see the detailed data item. Or you may not even need to display the data item at all if the thumbnail happens to contain the information that you need.

  • Item Details

    iPIM™ has a rich set of 20+ data types that let you create powerful and easy-to-use data items.

    From this detailed item display you can:

    • Edit your data item as needed.
    • Take actions for specific data types, such as calling a phone number.
    • Add a new data item by touching the "+" button at the top.
    • Move to the next or to the previous data item.
    • Mark the data item as important, so that you can access it easily from the Home screen.
    • Create reminders based on time or location, including repeated reminders. Scroll forward to see screenshots of the reminder screens.
    • Search for data items that use this particular form (as opposed to the application-wide search available on the Home screen), using simple or advanced search.
    • Send the item to a supported printer, email it or upload it to Facebook or Twitter.
    • Delete the data item if you don't need it anymore.

    Location reminders and printing are available in the Premium version only.

  • Time Reminders

    iPIM™'s unique time reminder screen lets you create reminders for any time in the future with just a few touches. You don't have to scroll through long lists of times and dates.

    Reminders can be created for any data item and can be repeated on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis.

  • Location Reminders

    iPIM™ lets you crate location-based reminders* for any data item. Location-based reminders are triggered when you approach or leave a location, and can be repeated if necessary.

    iPIM™ maintains a list of addresses that you can use for location reminders as well as for address fields in data items. You can tell iPIM™ to store your current location, or you can search for any address on earth**. iPIM™ displays a map for each of your locations.

    * Location reminders are available in the full version and on supported devices only. Location reminders may be inaccurate or even missed, and on some devices they may drain your battery quicker than usual.

  • Simple Search

    iPIM™'s Simple Search lets you search your data quickly and easily.

    Simple Search searches for any data item containing your search term, using partial match (for example, searching for Camera will match an item containing Digital camera).

    When Simple Search is launched from the Search icon on the main screen (shown here), it searches everywhere regardless of Folder or Form.

    When Simple Search is launched from the Search icon on an item's detailed display, it only searches for items that use the same Form as the current item. This lets you limit your search to a specific data context.

  • Advanced Search

    There are cases where Simple Search is just too simple and returns too many items. There are also cases where you may want to save your searches for future use. This is where iPIM™'s Advanced Search comes to play.

    Advanced Search lets you create search queries that are as complex (or simple) as you need, using any combination of search terms. For example, you can define a search query asking for items that have a price between $50 and $100, do not contain the text Camera and are located in either New York or New Jersey.

    When Advanced Search is launched from the Search icon on the main screen, you can search in specific field types, e.g. Text or Date fields, and the search is not limited to a specific Form.

    When Simple Search is launched from the Search icon on an item's detailed display (shown here), you can search for specific fields, e.g. Customer Name or Purchase Date, and the search is limited to items that use the same Form as the current item.

    In both cases you can limit the search to the current folder or perform an application-wide search.

    If you have an Advanced Search that you use often, you can give it a name and save it for future use.

  • Data Security

    iPIM™ helps you protect your sensitive data in several ways.

    You can create a secret PIN (a numerical password with 4-8 digits) and use it to protect the folders that contain your sensitive data (e.g. your passwords or credit card information). You can also set iPIM™ to ask for your PIN every time you launch the application, so that all your data is protected.

    iPIM™ has special means to prevent guessing your PIN by repeated attempts.

    You can create answers to special hard-to-guess secret questions that will let you access your data if you forget your PIN. Always use answers that others cannot guess.

    If you store emergency data in iPIM™, you can tell iPIM™ to show it directly from the PIN prompt without having to enter the PIN or answer the secret questions.

    Whether you use a PIN or not, iPIM™ always encrypts your textual data when it stores it in its internal database. This means that even if your device or your backup files are compromised by hackers, your data will be protected from anyone who doesn't know your PIN or the answers to your secret questions. Please note that scribbles, photos, videos and sound recordings are not encrypted - don't use them to store sensitive information.

    You can add an extra protection layer to your backup files by asking iTunes to encrypt them.

  • Create Your Own Folders

    iPIM™ has a predefined set of folders and subfolders to store your common data, but you can easily create your own folder structure.

    Just touch the "+" button at the top of each folders screen and you'll be presented with a folder creation screen. The new folder will be added to the current folder or to the Home screen.

    A new folder can contain subfolders or data items (but not both). If you tell iPIM™ that the folder contains data items, you have to select one or more forms for the data items, or you can create a new form - scroll forward to see how.

    You can also rename, rearrange or delete folders by touching the "Edit" button at the top of the screen.

  • Create Your Own Forms

    iPIM™ is built around a powerful database that lets you create your own forms quickly and easily.

    New forms can be created from the folder definition screen or from the Lists tab at the bottom of the screen.

    Each form consists of one or more fields that define the data that can be stored in the form. iPIM™ has 20+ rich data types that let you store everything, including textual data, numbers, dates, addresses, photos, videos, checklists, finger-paint scribbles, lists of predefined values and much more. You can arrange your fields in groups separated by headers and specify various properties for each field.

    The powerful form creation feature of iPIM™ lets you tailor the application for your own personal or business needs.
